This sweet romance story begins with Geneva Carson getting rescued from being stuck in a tree. Handsome firefighter Rainn Harris rescues her. She is grateful for his assistance and wants to help him, but caring for his autistic niece, Mia was not what she bargained for. Geneva's daughter, Moselle (from the first book, Moselle's Insurance--Book One in the Frivolities Series) is planning her wedding, while Geneva is trying to run her business, Frivolities. Falling in love was not something on her agenda.Rainn is the custodial parent to his niece and he never expected to fall in love and gain a daughter all at the same time. There is one problem--Rainn is twelve years younger than Geneva and she is not excited about starting a relationship with a younger man. Will love win out as they rely on the Lord for guidance?
I did not read the first book in this series but that did not detract from fully enjoying Rainn on my Parade. Now that I read Rainn and Geneva's story, I am looking forward to reading about Moselle and Eric and LoRee's third book in this Frivolities Series, Sage and Sweetgrass.
From the moment I first met Geneva and Rainn; their romantic tension sizzled across the pages in a way that showed their intense attraction, but also their desire to remain pure. I can't remember the last time I read a Christian romance novel where the love between the two main characters sizzled so much. It was refreshing to read about such real and down to earth characters, yet be so captivated by their love story.
The secondary characters in this book were well crafted and I enjoyed reading about them, but every time Geneva and Rainn came back into the picture, they commanded my attention. Ms. Peery's ability to create such a romantic storyline in the midst of a real life, engaging setting, has truly set the bar for future books that I read. I will definitely be reading more of her books!

Rainn on My Parade is my second adventure with Loree Peery and her wonderful characters. I felt like I could invite these people to my home for coffee. And I know I would really enjoy shopping in Frivolities! Geneva and Rainn show us that attraction and love don't have to be confined to the younger set. Geneva is a hoot! An "older" couple dealing with not only a budding romance, but an autistic child who has been thrust into the mix, makes for a dynamic storyline. Can't wait to see what Ms. Peery has for us in her next offering.
LoRee Peery is a gifted writer with a touch for heart-tugging romance that encompasses not just love, but faith and overcoming the odds as well. Her writing voice is smooth and engaging and her plot line of reconciliation and fresh hope kept me turning the pages. I can't wait for more from LoRee Peery and her Frivolities series!
Rainn on my Parade was a wonderful read. Well paced and well written. I loved the romance between Rainn and Geneva and the fact she was so much older than he. The story reminded me a lot of Lavyrle Spencer's Family Blessings where a similar plot occurred, but yet, Rainn on my Parade held its own qualities to set it apart. Most especially the characters' love of God. I'm looking forward to more by Loree Peery.
